On the iPhone Duo exterior display in landscape with the camera in the
top corner, the window's 82pt top safe area comes only from the camera
and status items block, and dropped the whole top bar below it. When
everything occluding the top safe area sits in one corner, the top bar
stays at the edge and the corner adaptation offset clears the block.
The top bar no longer adds its own leading cutout clearance on top of
that offset, and cutouts only count when they reach into a bar's row.
On the iPhone Duo exterior display in landscape the camera cutout sits
in the bottom trailing corner, outside the safe area, and covered the
rotate button and the end of the progress bar. The top and bottom bars
now take extra padding on the side where an occlusion reserved region
reaches into them. Regions spanning the middle, like a portrait Dynamic
Island, are left to the safe area.
On a foldable with the hinge partially open in landscape, the fullscreen
player's buttons move to the half right of the hinge. The dimming
background and tap handling still cover the whole screen.
The window-level dismiss pan recognizes before SwiftUI's slider
DragGesture sets isAdjustingPlayerSliders, so dragging volume or
brightness often dismissed the player instead. Side sliders now publish
their frames and the pan refuses to begin from touches inside them.
Delete declarations that Periphery reports unused on every platform that
compiles them (iOS, macOS, tvOS), including nine views used only by their
own previews. Platform-gated code still used on another platform, device-
only MPV render paths, migration models, CloudKit record names, App
Intents metadata and unused parameters are kept.
The add-to-playlist, download options and queue sheets were declared in
every view that could open them: the root view (twice, mirrored from
coordinator flags), the expanded player, its portrait and floating
panels, the player controls and the video info view.
AppSheet lists the shared sheets, and .appSheetHost() declares them
once. The app root and the expanded player each host them, and every
presented sheet hosts the next level. Views present through the
presentAppSheet environment action, which reaches the nearest host;
code without a view (and the expanded player itself, whose host sits
in its own body) uses PresentationRouter.request, taken by the
top-most host: the player while it is up, the root otherwise.
The mini player's queue and playlist sheets now go through the host,
replacing the isMiniPlayer*SheetPresented flags.
The safe area came from the first window of the first connected scene,
which on the iPhone Duo can be the exterior display's window with its
84pt vertical status bar inset. In Split View on the interior display
that inset became ~100pt of side padding on the top and bottom bars and
truncated the duration label. A HostWindowReader now captures the
window hosting the controls; the foreground scene's key window is the
fallback until it is known.
The interior display refuses programmatic rotation
(UISceneErrorDomain 101: "The current windowing mode does not allow for
programmatic changes to interface orientation"), so the rotate/fullscreen
button did nothing there and the failure was swallowed.
- OrientationManager tracks `canRotateProgrammatically` (from the hinge
state, cleared when a geometry request is refused) and is @Observable.
- The fullscreen button takes the iPad path when rotation is unavailable:
details toggle in portrait, floating panel toggle in landscape, icon
follows the panel state; orientation lock is hidden. The refused request
itself falls back to the details toggle. Accelerometer-driven rotation
requests are gated the same way.
- Corner layout gate is size-only on iOS (≥900×600 including safe areas,
so the status bar toggling with the layout can't oscillate it); the
layout-mode setting is exposed on foldables via a hinge presence check.
- Corner layout on iPhone always hides the status bar (the interior's
landscape bar is a ~57pt column) and pads by the live top inset only,
instead of the transient 82pt inset seen while unfolding.
- The player hosting controller nudges its safe area after size
transitions so fold/unfold doesn't leave SwiftUI with stale insets.
The tabletop top bar sits below the hinge, not under the status bar, so
the top safe area padding is no longer added on top of the tabletop
offset. The side sliders reserve only the icon row and a small margin
from the lower-half center zone instead of the fullscreen allowance, and
the dimming scrim is skipped since no control overlaps the video.
Observe the foldable hinge with `onHingeChange` (iOS 27.1): while it is
partially open and the portrait panel is hidden, the video is fitted to
the upper half of the screen and every control (title bar, center
controls, side sliders, bottom bar) moves to the lower half. Pinch to
fill is disabled in that state. `YATTEE_FORCE_TABLETOP=1` in the launch
environment forces the layout on simulators without a hinge control.
The exterior display has a vertical status bar with a trailing safe
area inset, which squeezed the fullscreen portrait player into the
content width. The video and controls layers now span the full window
width (shifted under the leading inset, like the existing vertical
handling) and the controls pad their edges by the sheet's actual
asymmetric horizontal insets instead of the symmetric max.
Requires the iOS 27.1 SDK (Xcode 27.1).
The fullscreen video layer extends up into the status bar strip and is
shifted with an offset; `.clipped()` came after the offset, so it clipped
to the unshifted frame and cut the top strip (title row, avatar) off. Clip
before the offset instead.
The player controls read the main window's safe area only on geometry
changes. With the corner layout keeping its geometry fixed across the
status bar hide, the value went stale and the controls kept the status bar
height as top padding in fullscreen. Refresh it when the status bar
visibility changes, with a few delayed re-reads to cover the fade.
Overdragging the side column's resize grabber past its minimum width now
slides the column off the trailing edge (the video grows with it), and a
swipe in from the trailing screen edge brings it back following the
finger. The seek pan skips that edge strip while the column is
collapsed. Showing the panel again restores every region hidden by its
own drag handle.
Swiping the below-video panel back up right after hiding it showed the
video clipped to a short centered box that sprang back to full size.
The hide flipped to the hidden layout in a `.logicallyComplete`
completion while the slide spring was still registered on the SwiftUI
host of the mpv render view; a reveal drag interrupting it made the
release spring start from a bogus shrunken rect. All slide-off
completions now wait for `.removed` and bail if a new drag took over.
The visibility-keyed `.animation` modifiers key on a toggle generation
bumped only by the animated show/hide paths, so drag flips never start
the toggle easing. The partnerless `matchedGeometryEffect` on the
widescreen video frame is dropped.
The corner layout now always renders the info page as a portrait-style
panel below the video (collapsible description, drag to hide/expand),
while the side column holds tabs for the remaining pages. Key pieces:
- Below-video panel reuses PortraitDetailsPanel (no comments pill,
square corners, chapters/related stay in the side column tabs)
- Drag down hides the panel with the video recentering in lockstep;
swipe up on the video reveals it following the finger
- Fullscreen button toggles the panels in corner layout (controls hide
first so their resize never plays visibly); status bar and home
indicator hide only while the panels are hidden
- Panel visibility and column width are seeded at init from a warmed
PlayerControlsLayout cache, so the first frame resolves corner mode
without flashing the default layout or animating the panels in
- Dismiss pan is blocked inside the below-video panel frame
(cornerBelowPanelFrame in NavigationCoordinator)
- Resize grabber slimmed to match the panel drag handle look
The fullscreen button routes through a portrait-video check (toggling
the details panel instead of rotating), but the double-tap gesture
called onToggleFullscreen directly and always rotated to landscape.
Extract the shared decision into PlayerControlsActions.performFullscreenTap()
and use it from both the button and the tap gesture handler.
Streams built for local folder files carry no resolution/codec/fps
metadata (unknowable before demux), so the quality selector labeled
them "Unknown". Use the video track mpv reports (demux-w/h/fps, codec)
to fill those fields into a display-only copy of the stream — the
Video row and summary now show e.g. "720p · 30fps" with a codec badge.
Selection and tap handling keep using the original stream.
Files with multiple embedded tracks (e.g. MKV from media sources or
downloads) previously exposed none of them: mpv's track-list was never
read, aid was never set, and sid was only ever no/auto. The quality
selector showed no Audio or Subtitles tab for such files.
MPVClient now observes track-list/aid/sid and delivers a coalesced,
leniently decoded [MPVTrack] snapshot; selection state is derived from
the reported "selected" flags. Embedded tracks are switched live via
aid/sid (no reload), surfaced in the existing Audio/Subtitles sections
alongside external captions on iOS, tvOS and macOS. External sub-add/
audio-add tracks are filtered out to avoid double-listing. User picks
are sticky across same-video reloads (quality switch, audio mode,
retries) and preferred audio/subtitle languages auto-select a matching
embedded track once per load, with external captions taking precedence.
Persistent per-platform mode that plays only the audio track to save
bandwidth and speed up loads. When enabled, stream selection picks the
best audio-only stream (preferred language, codec, bitrate) and never
fetches the video URL; toggling mid-video reloads at the current
position using the quality-switch path (live vid=no toggling is avoided
due to A/V desync).
- Toggle row in the player quality/settings sheet on iOS, macOS and
tvOS, next to lock controls
- New audioMode control button type (red when active) for player
controls and mini player layouts
- Picking a video quality explicitly turns the mode off; audio track
picks keep it on and now work while audio-only is playing
- Stream URL refresh preserves audio-only playback instead of
resurrecting video
- Queue preloads and history entries resolved before a toggle are
discarded so selection re-runs with the current mode
- tvOS player shows the video thumbnail instead of a black screen
during audio-only playback
- PiP button hidden for audio-only streams
- Move Close to a top-right circular icon; bottom row reorganizes into
left (Settings/Info/Comments), center transport (Previous/PlayPause/Next),
and right (Queue) clusters with equal side frames so transport stays
geometrically centered.
- Introduce a circular icon-only `TVTransportButtonStyle` (primary variant
for Play/Pause) mirroring the new Close button look.
- Always render Previous/Next so Play/Pause position is fixed; dim and
disable when unavailable.
- Share `isTransportDisabled` on `PlayerState` and reuse it on iOS and
tvOS; apply it (plus symbol replace transition) to the tvOS Play/Pause
button.
Extract shared TimeInterval.formattedAsTimestamp replacing 8 identical
formatTime/formattedTime implementations across player views. Remove
unused currentTime parameter from GestureSeekPreviewView. Consolidate
duplicated geometry math in MacOSControlBar into seekPreviewPosition().
Extract chapter title from inside the storyboard preview into a
standalone ChapterCapsuleView with its own glass capsule background.
The capsule follows the seek position horizontally but independently
clamps to screen edges using alignmentGuide, allowing it to be wider
than the storyboard thumbnail without going offscreen.
Display a floating time pill above the seek bar during dragging
(iOS) and dragging/hovering (macOS) when video has no storyboard
thumbnails. Includes chapter name when available.
